MP ridicules claims that militants were trained in Poland to overthrow Lukashenka

Minsk, 13 April. A Polish MP has ridiculed Minsk's accusations that militants were trained in Poland to overthrow Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
Government-controlled media outlets have claimed that the people detained in a so-called riot case underwent training in camps in Poland and Ukraine.
"This is some kind of political fiction," Arkadiusz Mularczyk told reporters during his visit to Minsk on Thursday. "We want friendly relations and the development of economic cooperation. We have not taken any unfriendly actions, on the contrary, we want neighborly relations."
Another Polish MP, Adam Andruszkiewicz, expressed surprise at the accusations. "The Polish state has not carried out such activity," he said. "Our foreign ministry will be analyzing that."
Mr. Andruszkiewicz promised that the Polish government would continue funding Belsat TV, a Warsaw-based Belarusian-language channel. According to him, the channel's future was discussed at his meeting with Belarusian opposition politicians earlier in the day. "Independent circles believe that Belsat should exist," he said. "Nothing has changed on the Polish side, it continues existing and enjoys big support and care from the Polish state."
