Black paint was splashed on a mural celebrating "friendship" between Minsk and Moscow late on June 15.
Painted by Russian graffitist Artur Kashak on a Soviet-era apartment building on Mahilyowskaya Street in the Belarusian capital, the giant mural features a boy dressed in a traditional Belarusian shirt and a girl wearing a dress with the coat of arms of Moscow. The mural was described as the Moscow government's gift to Minsk.
The mural has divided the public, with many questioning both the idea and the image's quality.
