A six-turbine wind farm is in operation near Navahrudak, Hrodna region, generating half of the Navahrudak district's electricity demand.
This is the country's largest wind farm. The first turbine was installed in 2011. Five more turbines were put into operation a year ago. All are Chinese-made.
The turbines cost a total of some $13 million. The project is expected to pay off in 11 years. The turbines are to be in operation for 25 years.
