Video: Over 3,000 Russian troops expected in Belarus for joint exercise

Zapad 2017, a Belarusian-Russian military exercise that begins on Thursday, will involve a total of 10,175 military servicemen, including 3,100 Russian troops, on the territory of Belarus, Aleh Voinaw, aide to the Belarusian defense minister for international military cooperation, said at a briefing in Minsk on September 13.
The September 14-20 exercise in Belarus will feature 138 tanks, 231 armored combat vehicles, 142 artillery and multiple-launch rocket systems, and 49 military aircraft, said the official. Of them, 98 tanks, 104 armored combat vehicles, 32 artillery and multiple-launch rocket systems, and 27 military aircraft are to be contributed by the Russian army.
