Video: September saw lowest-ever number of casualties in Donbas, OSCE envoy says

September saw the lowest number of casualties in Ukraine's Donbas region since fighting began there a few years ago, Martin Sajdik, special representative of the OSCE chairperson-in-office to the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine, told reporters following the Group's meeting in Minsk on October 4.
Two people died and 16 were wounded in fighting in Donbas last month, he said, adding that "even one casualty is too many but one cannot but note a positive trend."
Mr. Sajdik said that the situation in the region could still not be called stable.
The diplomat described the operation of a special OSCE monitoring mission to Donbas as an integral and indispensable part of efforts to settle the conflict. He called on all parties to refrain from a public debate on the efficiency of the mission's work.
