Video: Fifteen people convicted over soccer match-fixing scam

A judge of the Pershamayski District Court in Minsk on Thursday convicted 15 people in Belarus' first-ever trial over a soccer match-fixing scam.
Those convicted included retired soccer players and coaches and active players representing top and second-division teams.
Judge Dzmitry Tsykal handed three-year "restricted freedom" sentences to retired player Vyachaslaw Zamara and FC Luch player Yury Syrakvashka. Both will be sent to an open-type correctional institution.
Uladzimir Makowski, a former Belarus and Dinamo Kyiv striker, received a two-year "restricted freedom" term but will not be sent to a correctional institution.
The rest of the accused were given heavy penalties ranging from 9,200 to 92,000 rubels ($4,670 to $46,700).
