In pictures: Mourners bid farewell to renowned artist Heorhi Paplawski

The funeral of Heorhi Paplawski was held in Minsk on Wednesday.
The renowned Belarusian artist died in his Minsk home on October 29 at the age of 87.
The artist was born in Ukraine’s Rivne on February 15, 1931.
He graduated from Minsk Art College (currently known as Hlebaw Minsk State Art College) in 1955 and Belarusian Theater and Art Institute (currently known as the Belarusian State Academy of Arts) in 1961.
He later taught at Belarusian National Technical University.
The artist was awarded the Lenin Komsomol Prize in 1970, the title of Honored Art Worker of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic in 1977, the Peoples` Friendship Order in 1986, and the title of People’s Artist of Belarus in 1997. He was also awarded the Francisak Skaryna Medal and the Belarusian-Russian Union State`s prize.
