BelaPAN Editor in Chief Iryna Lewshyna was released from custody at about 5 p.m. on Friday, but she remains a suspect in a so-called BelTA case.
Ms. Lewshyna, 52, was interrogated for two hours at the Minsk office of the Investigative Committee of Belarus before being freed. According to her, she gave a written pledge not to disclose any details relating to the investigation of the case.
Ms. Lewshyna had her home searched and was arrested on Thursday morning. She was placed in the detention center on Akrestsina Street in the evening.
