BelaPAN staff writer Tanya Korovenkova was formally charged Tuesday with a criminal offense for unauthorized access to the government's news agency BelTA's paid-subscriber section.
The journalist is accused of getting unauthorized access to computer information with her actions "motivated by mercenary or other personal interests.”
The journalist has been banned from leaving Minsk.
BelaPAN chief editor Iryna Lewshyna has been ordered to report to the Investigative Committee's Minsk office on November 8. She is also a suspect in the so-called BelTA case and is expected to be charged too.
On November 5, four journalists were formally charged in the BelTA case.
