The nomination group of presidential hopeful Sviatlana Cichanoŭskaja on Wednesday resumed the collection of ballot access signatures.

Last week, Ms. Cichanoŭskaja called on members of her nomination group not to collect ballot access signatures in Minsk and the regional capitals on June 12, 13 and 14 because of possible acts of provocation.

In a video message, Ms. Cichanoŭskaja noted that her team members were being arrested and punished with jail terms and fines.

On Tuesday, an anonymous caller threatened Ms. Cichanoŭskaja that she may go to prison and have her children removed if she submitted her ballot access signatures to election commissions. The woman announced on the same day that she would not quit the presidential race.
