A plane carrying some €3 million worth of coronavirus aid paid for by the European Union arrived at Minsk National Airport from China on May 22.

Delivered to Belarus by the country’s TransAviaExport airline, the shipment includes more than two million masks, a million respirators, plastic face shields and protective suits.

The aid has been donated to Belarus by the EU in the framework of its assistance to the Eastern Partnership countries amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The plane was met at the airport by Deputy Health Minister Barys Andrasiuk, Dirk Schűbel, head of the EU Delegation to Belarus, and Batyr Berdyklyechev, the World Health Organization’s representative in Belarus.
